GREAT GO: NEARLY THREE DECADES OF CRAFTSMANSHIP

With nearly 30 years of experience, Great Go is a trusted OEM partner in Taiwan’s cycling industry—pioneering carbon fiber innovation and delivering premium components worldwide.

Tucked within Taichung’s Youshih Industrial Park—a vibrant epicenter of bicycle manufacturing—Great Go stands as a quiet giant among industry leaders. This industrial park is a powerhouse, home to many renowned cycling companies. Since its founding in 1998, Great Go has carved out its niche with over 27 years of precision, adaptability, and innovation.

Lance, our guide today

Walking through the bustling complex with Lance Lee, I was struck by its calm, measured rhythm—like a finely tuned machine driving the global cycling supply chain. Great Go isn’t just another OEM; it’s a strategic partner—working shoulder to shoulder with clients, blending deep manufacturing roots with a forward-looking vision.

Pioneering Carbon Fiber

In the early 2000s, while aluminum alloy dominated the bicycle market, Great Go saw a different future. They boldly invested in carbon fiber, a lightweight yet incredibly strong material that was still rare in bicycle production at the time. That foresight paid off.

Today, with a team of 175 skilled professionals, Great Go specializes in high-end carbon fiber components—including frames, handlebars, MTB bars, and seat posts. They primarily serve premium European and American brands. Yet, despite their success, Lance exudes no arrogance. On the contrary, he radiates genuine pride and joy in his team’s expertise and legacy.

Premium Materials, Premium Trust

At Great Go, quality begins with materials. The company exclusively sources carbon fiber from Toray, a Japanese supplier renowned for its consistency and strength. For end consumers, this translates into bikes that are not only lighter but also exceptionally durable—whether for competitive racing or rugged terrain.

As Lance showed me boxes of Toray carbon sheets, it was clear: this is a company deeply committed to material integrity. Their elite brand partners trust that every product meets the high standards expected at the top end of the market.

A Technical Moat of Expertise

Though Great Go operates as an OEM, its strength lies in technical leadership. The company has secured multiple patents for proprietary production techniques—boosting both efficiency and precision.

Their R&D team doesn’t just design bike components; they design the production tools and processes as well. This allows Great Go to support clients from the earliest design stages, cutting down on costly trial-and-error cycles and accelerating product development. Some clients are able to go from concept to market in as little as four months—a clear competitive edge in today’s fast-moving industry.

Efficiency on the Production Line

On the factory floor, Great Go demonstrates what operational excellence looks like. Every workstation is strategically positioned to reduce unnecessary movement and maximize throughput.

Lance pointed out testing equipment placed directly alongside production lines. Here, non-destructive testing is conducted in real-time on every batch. Their ZEISS X-ray machine inspects internal integrity of carbon components, and each scan is archived in a quality control database. This makes product quality traceable and auditable—proof of their dedication to transparency and reliability.

Commitment to Sustainability

Great Go’s innovation also extends to sustainability. As a member of the BAS (Bike Association of Sustainable development) organization, they align closely with evolving European regulations and market expectations.

Their initiatives include material recycling and cleaner manufacturing practices. Lance was candid about the journey ahead, but clear in intent: Great Go is among the first in Taiwan to implement truly authentic, measurable green efforts—not just checking boxes but setting an example.

Exceeding Safety Standards

Safety is non-negotiable at Great Go. Their products are tested to exceed industry strength standards by 10–25%, offering riders greater peace of mind. This internal benchmark reduces iteration cycles with clients, increases trust, and solidifies long-term partnerships.

As a visitor, I was impressed not just by their high standards—but by their transparency in admitting the ongoing challenges of maintaining excellence in a competitive field.

A Partner, Not Just a Producer

What truly sets Great Go apart is their role as a collaborative partner. By engaging early in product design, they help clients avoid costly missteps and shorten development cycles. Many of their brand partnerships have lasted years, founded on mutual respect, communication, and reliable performance.

A Lasting Impression

Leaving Great Go, I was left with a strong impression of a company that embodies both warmth and technical precision. Lance’s approachable nature and the team’s unwavering focus reflect a business built not just on process—but on purpose.

Like Taiwan’s cycling industry as a whole, Great Go combines tradition with innovation, and confidence with humility. With nearly three decades of experience, they’ve earned their place not just as a manufacturer—but as a trusted ally to the world’s leading cycling brands.

For OEM clients, Great Go offers more than just components—they deliver partnership, performance, and long-term value. For riders, they deliver bikes that are as reliable as they are exhilarating—ready for any road ahead.
